I, Peter Greenlee of the county of Pendleton and State of South Carolina being at this time in perfect mind and memory thanks be given unto God, calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my last will and testament, that is to say principally & first. I give and recommend my soul unto the hands of Almighty God that gave it and my body I recommend to the earth to be buried in a decent Christian manner at the discretion of my Executor and touching such worldly estate wherewith it has pleased God to bless me with I give and dispose of in the following manner and form.... 1st - I give unto my daughter NANCY JOHNSON one negro girl named Hannah - - 2nd - I likewise give to my daughter ELIZABETH OLDHAM a negro girl named Sharlette - - 3rd - I give unto my son WILLIS GREENLEE a negro woman named Grace & her child Sal, and one cow & calf - - 4th - I give unto my daughter MARGET GREENLEE one negro girl named Suck - - 5th - I give unto my son WILLIAM GREENLEE one negro boy named James - - 6th - I give unto my daughter MARY OLDHAM one negro girl named Violet and three cows & calves... 7th - I also give and bequeath to my well beloved wife DEBORAH GREENLEE three hundred acres of land it being the plantation whereon I now live and the following negroes (viz) Jane, Dick, Clary, Sippio, Stephen & Daniel together will all my stock of every kind, my household furniture and plantation tools it being jointly for her support (while she is my widow) and the support of my children whose names follows (viz) JAMES GREENLEE, SHADRACK GREENLEE, JOHN GREENLEE, DULLY GREENLEE, MILLEY GREENLEE, and if my wife should get married at her marriage what I have left her and my five children last named for her support. I will to be equally divided between my wife and my said five children and at the death of my wife her part to return to my said five children. And if my wife does die my widow the whole left her and my five youngest children to be equally divided between my said five youngest children. Last I do make, constitute, ordain & appoint my son WILLIAM GREENLEE & REUBEN JOHNSON whole and sole Executors of this my last will and testament. Desiring the same may be fulfilled and performed - - And I do hereby ratify and conform this to be my last will and testament. Desiring the same may be fulfilled and performed.
