 Susanah Hague

 Lewis Sawyer

 Reese Buzbee

 and Benjamin Buzbee



 To the Honourable The Senate and House of Representatives of the State of
South Carolina.



 The prayer of your petitioners humbly shewth that whereas Benjamin Buzbee,
late of Edgefield District, Deceased bid by his Last will and testament in
writing bearing bearing out [last two words hard to read] on the fourth of
October last, direct that a certain Negro man named Ned the property of said
deceased should be set free therefore we, Susannah Buzbee, widow of said
deceased and Lewis Sawyer, son-in-law and Benjamin Buzbee so of the said
decd. Do hereby pray your honourable bodie to take into consideration this,
our petition, with the case of said Negro and devise some means for the
Emmancipation of said Negro by empowering the Executors Nathan Norris and
Ansil Sawyer of either of them to furnish said Negro with a deed of
emancipation and certificate that the law requires and your petitioners as
in duty bound will ever pray  --
