This indenture made the is 9th day of October 1820, between James L. Cottrell, of the one part, and David & Thomas Apperson, of the other part. Witnesseth that whereas the said James L. Cottrell has become security for the said David Apperson in bond given to Lary Lary of Jones County, Georgia, for the sum of $175 do bargain, sell, release and confirm unto the said James L. Cottrell a certain slave woman by the name of Judy. We have affixed our hands and seals the day and year abopve written.
