Caver, Jr. Lecaverjr@aol.com State of Alabama, Montgomery County Know all men by these presents that I, Edmund Walton, of the county and state aforesaid, for and in consideration of the sum of $500 to me in hand paid, the receipt of which I acknowledge, do bargain and sell, and by these have bargained and sold unto Henry M. Funderburg, of the County of Autauga and state aforesaid, a certain boy slave, 15 years of age, yellow complexion, commonly called and known by the name of John or Jack. I also warrant said slave boy sound and healthy. In witness whereof I hereunto set my hand and seal this 11th day of February, in the year of our Lord, one thousand-eight hundred and twenty-two (1822), the forty-sixth year of American Independence.
