Wm. Watts Jones/Wilmington, N.C. certifies that the bearer, John Martin, 14
or 15 years of age, of red complexion, full blue eyes, etc., was born of free
parents, and all his family have been free people in New Hanover County,
N.C.Notary also
states that Martin and his family have  been "reputed" to be free.

DeGraf Flenninkin to Eliz. Flenninkin, widow of David Flennikin late of this
county
2 negro boys formerly belonging to said estate.

#101 19 April 1874
Agnes Bozeman to my son, Marian Bozeman of Edgefield District South Carolina,
a negro girl, in trust for the use of my daughter, Sarah Carson of Gwinett
County, Georgia.

#277 19 Feb 1812
Green County Georgia, Daniel Sanford to Robert Haw also of said county/state,
some negroes purchased by me at the sale by the admistrators of I__met Haw,
deceased. In trust for Harriett, Sarah Jane, Richard and infant unnamed. All
children of Catherine Ponsoby of Green County Georgia.

Robert B. Stringfellow to daughter Lucretia Stringfellow, a slave in
possession of Lucretia Gammage, "deeded to me by Thos. Gammage, to be
delivered to me on the death of said Lucretia Gammage".

#319 Matthew McLaughlin to Joseph Erwin, a slave named Dorcas, in trust for
Ann, the mother of said Erwin, to prevent her (Dorcas) from being sold to pay
the debts of the husband of Ann.

#332 1 Jan 1820
Articles of Agreement between Thomas H.V. Carson and Aritta Denson, daughter
of Nancy Denson, widow and relict of James Denson, all of Dallas County Al.
...Aritta
has 2 negroes and $1,000 dollars in the hands of John Cook administrator of
the estate. One of the negroes is in the possession of Edward Mitchell near
Natchez.

Notice the social/legal conditions for women, children, slaves and FPOC.
It appears that Marion Alabama is the countyseat. Hope this help someone.
